Thiafoura: a food system diagnostic with local stakeholders

On 30 September 2026, farmers, community organisations, elected officials and technical services met at Sindia town hall to map who produces, processes and sells food around Thiafoura.

Thiafoura: a food system diagnostic with local stakeholders

On 30 September 2026, CREATES brought together the stakeholders of the food system of Thiafoura and the neighbouring villages at Sindia town hall: farmers, community organisations, elected officials, technical services, associations, women processors and traders.

The aim was to understand how food is produced, processed and sold in the area, and to identify the agroecological practices that already exist.

In small groups, participants placed the places of production, processing and sale on a satellite map of the area, along with the channels that link them. They then discussed the difficulties, the market opportunities and the links to strengthen between producers, processors and sellers.

Next steps

This diagnostic will feed into the Thiafoura living lab and the TERAL project: agroecological production, local processing, sales and connecting stakeholders.

Thanks to Sindia town hall, the Thiafoura village development committee (CVD), the technical services, partner organisations and all the participants.
